Privacy Policy
How we handle your information when you visit ajunais.com, submit our contact form, book a meeting, or work with us.
This Privacy Policy explains how Aslam Junais ("AJ", "we", "us", "our"), operating as a brand strategy consultant under ajunais.com, collects, uses and protects personal information when you visit this website, submit our contact form, book a meeting, or otherwise interact with us.
This site is operated from Dubai, United Arab Emirates. We comply with applicable UAE data protection requirements (including UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data, "UAE PDPL") and apply the principles of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to visitors based in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom.
1. Who is the data controller?
The data controller for personal information collected through this website is:
2. What information we collect
Information you give us directly
- Contact form submissions — name, email address, telephone number, the area of work you are interested in (e.g. AI Brand Audit, Strategic Brand Advisory), and any free-text message you choose to send.
- Lead-magnet downloads — name and email address when you request a downloadable resource such as the Brand Intelligence Checklist.
- Meeting bookings — name, email address, time-zone, and any details you provide when scheduling a discovery call via our Calendly link (calendly.com/ajunais).
- Direct correspondence — anything you choose to send by email, WhatsApp, LinkedIn or other direct channels.
Information collected automatically
- Technical data — IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, and approximate location derived from IP.
- Marketing-attribution data — UTM parameters in the URL (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content, utm_term), Google Click ID (gclid), and Meta Click ID (fbclid). These help us understand which marketing channel brought you to the site so we can spend our advertising budget responsibly.
- Cookies and similar technologies — see Section 6 below.
3. How we use this information
We use the personal information you provide for the following purposes:
- To respond to enquiries — when you submit our contact form we send an immediate confirmation email and a personal reply, typically within 24 hours.
- To provide consulting services — name and contact details are used to deliver work you have engaged us for, including audits, advisory sessions and strategic projects.
- To follow up on leads — if you have not heard back from us, we may send up to three short follow-up emails (within roughly two weeks of your initial enquiry) to make sure your message did not get missed.
- To improve our marketing — UTM and click-ID data tells us which channels and campaigns produce real conversations, so we invest in the channels that work and stop spending on the ones that don't.
- To meet legal obligations — for example, retaining records of contracts, invoices and correspondence for the period required by UAE law.
4. Legal basis for processing
Where the UAE PDPL or GDPR applies, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases:
- Consent — when you submit a form, opt in to a download, or schedule a call, you consent to us processing the data you provide for the purposes described in this policy. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing hello@ajunais.com.
- Performance of a contract — when we are working with you on a paid engagement, we process information necessary to deliver that engagement.
- Legitimate interests — we have a legitimate interest in measuring marketing performance, preventing spam and abuse, and securing the website. We balance these interests against your privacy rights and limit the data we collect to what is necessary.
- Legal obligation — for tax, accounting, anti-money-laundering and similar requirements.
5. Who we share your data with
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that operate the tools we use to run this site and our consulting practice, and only to the extent necessary:
- Hostinger — website hosting and email infrastructure.
- Zoho Corporation — Zoho CRM (lead management) and Zoho SalesIQ (visitor analytics and chat).
- Google LLC — Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, Google Ads conversion tracking, and YouTube embeds.
- Meta Platforms, Inc. — Meta Pixel for Instagram and Facebook ad measurement and audiences.
- LinkedIn Corporation — LinkedIn Insight Tag and Lead Forms (where applicable).
- Calendly LLC — meeting scheduling.
- WhatsApp / Meta — direct messaging when you reach us via the WhatsApp button.
Some of these providers process data outside the United Arab Emirates, including in the United States, the European Union, and India. Where this happens, we rely on the safeguards offered by those providers (standard contractual clauses, equivalent contractual protections, or your explicit consent) to ensure your data continues to be protected to a comparable standard.
We may also disclose information where required by law, court order, or to protect our legal rights.
6. Cookies and tracking technologies
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies to make this site work and to measure the impact of our marketing.
- Strictly necessary cookies — needed for core functionality such as remembering form submissions and securing the site against spam.
- Analytics cookies — Google Analytics 4 (via Google Tag Manager) helps us understand how the site is used in aggregate.
- Advertising cookies — Google Ads, Meta Pixel and LinkedIn Insight Tag let us measure ad performance and (with your consent where required) show relevant ads on those platforms.
- Attribution storage — UTM parameters, gclid and fbclid values are stored in your browser for up to 90 days so we can link a later enquiry back to the campaign that brought you here.
You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings or by using browser-level "do not track" features. Doing so will not break the site but may reduce the accuracy of our marketing measurement.
7. How long we keep your data
- Active leads — we keep contact form submissions and CRM records for as long as the conversation is active and for up to 24 months after our last contact, in case you come back to us.
- Clients — engagement records are kept for the duration of our work together and for at least 7 years afterwards, to meet UAE accounting and tax requirements.
- Marketing-attribution data — up to 90 days in your browser; aggregated reporting is retained for up to 26 months in Google Analytics 4 by default.
- Server logs — typically 30 days.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you are based, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Ask us to delete data we no longer need to keep.
- Restrict or object to certain types of processing.
- Receive a copy of your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time, where we relied on consent to process your data.
- Lodge a complaint with the UAE Data Office (or your local supervisory authority) if you believe we have not handled your data lawfully.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@ajunais.com with the subject line "Data request". We will respond within 30 days.
9. Security
We use HTTPS site-wide, restrict CRM access to authorised users, store passwords and API credentials in encrypted form, and rotate access tokens periodically. No system is perfectly secure; if we ever discover a breach that affects your data, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by UAE PDPL.
10. Children's privacy
This site is for business audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please email hello@ajunais.com and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when our tools, partners or legal obligations change. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted on the homepage or notified by email to active leads and clients.
